OHSAS 18001 is an international occupational health and safety management system. This standard enables companies to control health and safety risks, while at the same time promoting employee well-being and a safe work environment. Many aerospace OEMs have adopted OHSAS 18001 to help ensure the safety of their employees.

Z10 ANSI/AIHA Z10-2005 is the voluntary consensus standard developed and followed in the United States. It has a primary focus on helping organizations execute Occupational Health & Safety Management System strategies and assists in identifying areas where hazard prevention and control is needed.

CSA Z1000 CAN/CSA Z1000-2006 is the Canadian national consensus standard emphasizing the Occupational Heath & Safety Management System processes. Z1000 provides organizations with a significant tool to help enhance existing OHSMS programs or establish new ones.

ISO 9001 is the quality management system on which AS9100 is based. While most aerospace suppliers choose AS9100 registration as their primary management system certification, the option exists to register your organization solely to ISO 9001.

ISO 14001 is an environmental management system that assists companies in planning, monitoring and continually improving their competitive position and environmental performance. Due to complexity of some aerospace products, hazardous materials are often used in the manufacture or incorporated into the product. Having a robust environmental management system can help ensure the effective control of these materials.
