The Global Standard for Food Safety has been developed to specify the safety, quality and operational criteria required to be in place within a food manufacturing organization to fulfill obligations with regard to legal compliance and protection of the consumer.
BRC Standards’ international use has grown substantially, with over 8,500 food suppliers certified in over 80 countries. It has also been recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) since its inception and this has led to recognition by international retailers such as Wal-Mart, Ahold, Metro and Delhaize.
